The resolution layer for account-to-account payments

Query payware. Resolve the transaction. Execute directly. No card networks. No middlemen.

What is payware?

payware is the neutral resolution infrastructure that connects merchants and payment institutions. A merchant registers once. When a customer pays, their institution queries payware to resolve the transaction - receiving merchant name, amount, currency, and the optimal merchant bank account for the querying institution. The institution executes the direct account-to-account transfer. payware never holds funds, never authenticates customers, and never competes with the institutions that depend on it.

Neutral Infrastructure

payware serves all institutions equally - no bias, no favorites. The network has no stake in which institution executes a payment, only that resolution works for all of them.

Multi-Sided Platform

Connecting payment institutions, merchants, ISVs, and consumers. Every new participant strengthens the network for all existing participants.

Built on Existing Infrastructure

No new cards, no new payment accounts needed. payware works with existing banking rails and authentication - institutions add a resolution query, not a new payment system.

Open Standard

Standards-based protocols that enable ecosystem growth. Transparent, documented specification. Any institution can integrate.

How It Works

A payment flows through five steps. payware handles the resolution - your institution handles the rest.

Core Principles

Six foundational principles that define the payware standard

Universal

Works with any payment institution worldwide - one integration covers every registered merchant

Interoperable

Seamless cross-institution transactions without bilateral agreements

Neutral

Independent resolution infrastructure - no bias, no favorites, no stake in which institution executes

Secure

Reversed information flow: institutions pull from payware, no sensitive data is pushed at initiation. No account details exposed at point of payment.

Instant

Real-time A2A payments - funds move on existing instant payment rails

Innovative

7 different payment initiation methods, all resolving through the same protocol layer

Technical Architecture

AI-Native Protocol Access

Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables natural language payment operations

Transform Integration from Code-First to AI-First

payware implements native Model Context Protocol support, enabling AI assistants to directly operate payment services through natural language commands. This represents a fundamental shift in how payment systems are integrated and operated.

Instead of weeks spent learning APIs and writing integration code, developers can now prototype payment flows in minutes through conversational commands. AI assistants become payment operations partners, understanding context and executing complex multi-step workflows autonomously.

Natural language transaction creation and management
AI-powered code generation across 8+ languages
Intelligent workflow automation with context awareness
Living documentation with fresh validated examples

Technical Implementation

MCP Server Architecture

  • 60+ Payment operations exposed through MCP interface
  • JSON-RPC 2.0 Standard messaging protocol for AI communication
  • OAuth2 Secure authentication maintaining bank-grade security
